Letter from Miguela
...as I pen these words. My name is Miguela M. Tampos, and I am writing to you today as a testament to the incredible impact that your scholarship program has had on my life.
Back in 2014, when I was just a Grade 8 Junior High School student at Iligan City National High School, I had the privilege of becoming one of the scholars under your program. At that time, I was part of the Science Curriculum, surrounded by exceptional students in a big school. Despite being among them, I was a shy girl who preferred to sit quietly in the corner of the room. However, it was through your scholarship program that I discovered my true potential, for you have helped me not just financially but, more importantly, spiritually. Your support boosted my confidence, and it enabled me to do things I had never dreamed possible.
Thanks to your financial assistance, I had the opportunity to present a research paper in a Regional contest, a feat that I could only achieve because of your unwavering belief in me. But your impact on my life went far beyond academics. As I became a scholar, I also grew spiritually, becoming actively involved in the church. I took on roles as a Kid's Teacher and a Cell group leader, helping me develop a deeper connection with my faith and my community.
Moving on to my Senior High School years at the prestigious Mindanao State University Iligan Institute of Technology - Integrated Development School, I faced even more significant financial challenges, given its semi-private institution. Once again, your support became my pillar of strength. With your help, I not only graduated from that school with high honors but also presented my research paper in a National competition wherein I am the only student who was able to present a paper. All my competitors were already professionals and some were even lawyers.
Your unwavering support continued into my college years at MSU-IIT, and together, we faced the formidable challenges of the "hell years'' in college, including the COVID-19 pandemic. With your support, I emerged victorious, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Philosophy majoring in Applied Ethics, earning the distinction of Magna Cum Laude, Gawad Chancellor's Awardee, and Schopenhaurian for Arts Service Awardee.
Nonetheless, even after graduation, I have remained true to the values you instilled in me, continuing to teach children and lead my Cell group, for I believe there is no greater calling than serving the Lord.
As I stand here today, reflecting on my journey, I want you to know that I carry my humble beginnings with me always. I will never forget the people who believed in me and helped shape me into the person I am today—you, my Fullness in Christ Ministry family. My heart is filled with immense gratitude, and I pray that God continues to bless you so that you can continue to be instruments of change in the lives of many others.
Thank you, from the depths of my heart, for your sacrifices, love, and unwavering support. May God bless Fullness in Christ Ministry abundantly. To God be all the glory.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Miguela
